Minor repair work was carried out on the Tug Daldy, and preparation was the key to the quick turnaround on this vessel which needed fabrication work to the bulwarks and breathers.
Ship Repair NZ set up the required equipment and organised permits for the work; cut out the damaged sections of the bulwarks and removed the damaged vent pipes; cut out further damaged sections under the deck stiffener from below the void and then the new replacements were fabricated.
A new bulwark and top pipe section were completed, as well as new under deck stiffeners and angle bracing. The air vents were cut and repaired to fit back into position, and the tug left clean and tidy to get back to its work.
