Oceanic Discoverer

New Zealand Ship Repair gave the illustrious Oceanic Discoverer a mini-makeover in just five days recently, including changing its name to Coral Discoverer and painting the out of water hull from white to grey.

The purpose-built small cruise ship is the newest small ship operating in the Australasian waters, taking up to 72 guests on any experience. The New Zealand Ship Repair team are renowned for their speedy and efficient work, and undertook the mini-makeover with ease, getting the ship back into the water in just a few days.

Deep Water Port

Located in the calm, sheltered waters of Whangarei Harbour – we are one of only four deep water ports in New Zealand. We have a large slipway for vessels up to 1800 tonne which often handles two ships at once, as well as a second 40 tonne slipway for smaller vessels.

Sheltered Harbour

Facilities onsite include showers & toilets for crew, a fully equipped office with internet access, and easy access to Whangarei CBD. We can arrange rental vehicles, accommodation, sort out crew visas and permits and look after you during your time ashore.
