Deep Water Port
Ship Repair NZ is located on the edge of the Whangarei Harbour, one of the only four deep water ports in New Zealand suitable for large vessels. We have a large slipway that can take up to 1800 tonnes and regularly is used by two vessels at the same time.
Our work is renowned – we were part of the team to undertake the refit project for the Damen Sea Axe Advantage and recently undertook the big task of completing a mini makeover on the small cruise ship Oceanic Discoverer in just five days, which also saw a name change too.
Vessel Surveys
Is your vessel due for survey? We can take care of that, and any repair and maintenance that is required or requested, including interior and exterior refits; specialised painting finishes; any engine issues attended to and more.
Mid-survey? We can undertake the safety checks required and get you back out on the open seas promptly.
We work with all classes of societies, including (but not limited to) Maritime Safety New Zealand, American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, Lloyds and the US Coastguard.
